One of my favorite 2021 novels was Elizabeth Gonzalez James “Mona at Sea.” Thanks LibroMobile for letting me share some thoughts. And Big thanks to Erin Rubin for the big lift in editing. I’ll learn how to write books review eventually!
Mona is full of complexities. She’s sarcastic and cynical, but her close observations are spot-on accurate and wickedly funny. She claims she only wants to be rich, but she’s quick to defend those who can’t defend themselves, including an unfortunate saguaro cactus. She’s not always likeable but she is very human.
