I got to connect with people in real life on September 27th at Chapman Brewing in Orange in celebration of Issue #7 of Citric Acid, An Online Orange County Literary Arts Quarterly of Imagination and Reimagination  Write to Read hosted. They run a monthly reading series in conjunction with Chapman University. I read a little bit from “Those People Behind Us” and around 70 beer drinking book lovers showed up to listen.

My kind of crowd!

Issue Seven of Citric Acid includes an interview with me and author/poet/artist/librarian/punkrockhistorian/dogwhisperer Stacy Russo. It’s a lengthy piece where I answer Stacy’s questions about my life, my writing process and my affinity for “unlikeable” characters. We talk about her work too.

Issue Seven also features poetry and art by Stacy Russo, photos of Roger Eyes R.’s beautiful new mural and recent exhibition at the Crear Gallery, an essay about the TV show “The OC” by Gabriel San Roman, and an interview with Octavio Solis about his new play “Quixote Nuevo” forthcoming at South Coast Repertory.

It’s a great issue, showcasing all kinds of Orange County writers and artists. Subscribe if you haven’t. It’s free.
