Mary Camarillo’s Essay Included in Grief Anthology

blue sky with clouds and a pink broken heart with the book titleI’m grateful to have an essay included in a new anthology, Grief Like Yours: A Story Collection of Life after Loss which released on June 3rd. Gracias to author Cindy Eastman for putting the anthology together. After her daughter’s death from cancer, Cindy felt “an avalanche of loss of all kinds not really knowing how to deal with it, she decided to create a book about grief. This anthology is the result.

My essay is titled “What Not to Say When Someone Dies.” It was written after people said a lot of unhelpful things to me when my parents died.

Novelist Josi Kilpack, author of 26 books, endorsed the anthology and wrote, “Reading this book took me off guard…May this compilation bring for you, as it has for me, gratitude for the things and people we love, and honor in how we grieve them when our time together is spent.”
